Phew!! I've been getting to know all the students at RTE, particularly the 5th graders as we are learning about the Leadership Block opportunities, and how the lower grades/teachers will be served by their unique talents/service. I hope to begin classroom guidance at the kindergarten and 1st grade levels next week. We will be covering how, when, where and why the counseling program exists for individual students needs, how to be good friends, and procedures. Our habit spotlight continues to be "BE PROACTIVE" and, as of today, we've transitioned the LIFESKILLS focus to COMMON SENSE. Below you will see a calendar indicating dates and focus material. Please share and discuss at home. Children learn better when the same concept is taught in different environments and from different sources (teachers, parents, family members, mentors, coaches, etc). For 5th grade parents, you will also see the parent letter below that will be sent home with information about the 5th grade Leadership Block. I continue to be amazed, impressed and, at times, amused by these wonderful students!
