Hello Aviators!
First and foremost..I really miss all of you and hope we are all back together soon! I know things feel uncertain right now. You might feel scared/anxious, or may not know what to feel at all. Either way, all of your feelings are ok and I’m still here to help. This doesn’t stop just because we can not see each other in person. Remember this is TEMPORARY.
Parents,
I continue to be available through email at sotanner@richland2.org, and am checking voicemails daily. My number and extension are 691-8676, extension 26124. In an effort to continue supporting your students, I will also be posting classroom guidance lessons on my website that can be accessed via The Round Top Review at
rteflightstatusonline.blogspot.com (look at right side of screen under "What's Happening at RTE" then click on Counselors Cubby and head over to the "Blog" tab at top). I will also be including valuable resources specific to Covid-19 on this site as well. Here are some you may find useful in helping to calm any fears your student may be experiencing (click on image):
Students,
I want to remind all of you about my last classroom guidance lesson on RESILIENCE. Remember you can choose to BOUNCE back (like the ball) or SPLAT (like the bubbles as they fell to the floor). What we are all experiencing now is a real-life lesson on RESILIENCE. Remember we can have Bounce or Splat thoughts. Our thoughts drive our emotions and behavior. Keeping that in mind I’d like to encourage each of you to find your own rainbows and stars in this storm of uncertainty. When you realize them, write down the positives that are happening all around us. They are there. Pay attention. Here are mine so far. Here is a blank copy for you to use! Also, remember in choosing your own weather, it is important to identify what is in your circle of control at this time. I'm including a graphic below that might be helpful as well. Maybe you want to add to it!
I love and miss you all. I’ll be seeing you! ~Mrs. Tanner
